Bhadra Yoga - Pancha-Mahapurusha Yoga

Bhadra yoga: When Mercury, exalted (in Kanya) or in its own sign (Mithuna or Kanya), is located in a kendra. Can arise only when the lagna is one of the Dwiswabhava rashis.

One born in Bhadra yoga is physically strong and healthy, with long arms, and fine dense beard. He is as tall as the span of his outstretched arms. His face resembles that of a lion and gait has the majesty of an elephant. He has a commanding stature, broad chest and shoulders, and proportionate limbs. He has a beautiful forehead and dark, curly hair. His body has the fragrance of saffron and his voice is sweet and impressive.

Bhadra yoga confers learning and virtue on the native. Such a native is skilled in the technique of'yoga', of a stable mind, and very intelligent. He is sensuous, versed in the sacred scriptures, and of a 'Sattvika' or virtuous disposition. Independent in all that he undertakes, he is judicious and does not favour or forgive those around him. Extremely wealthy, he is blessed with comforts, wife and progeny. Enjoying high status, he lives upto a ripe age of eighty years when he quits this world in a holy place of pilgrimage.

Note: With Mercury having its dominant role in Bhadra yoga, the stress here is on learning, intelligence and virtue. The native earns status and wealth through his own pursuits and enjoys their consequent comforts.
