Ideal Placement of Water Sources in Factory Plot
In Vastu Shastra, water represents the flow of wealth, prosperity and life energy (prana). Proper placement of water sources in a factory plot ensures uninterrupted production, good cash flow and stable business growth. Wrong positioning of bore-wells, underground or overhead tanks in industrial plots can lead to financial losses, machine breakdowns, debt and health problems for owners and workers. Therefore, arranging water elements as per Vastu is extremely important when planning or running a factory.
Plan for water outlet
Slope on terrace of an industry or building should always be in the eastern direction of north- east. Rain water should get discharged through north- east, north and east direction. Water exit I an industry or building should be via north or east direction. Water discharge from bathroom, kitchen should be arranged in such a way that it exists through north- east direction.
Water- TAP arrangement in a commercial complex If water taps have been provided in all the four directions of a building or commercial complex, then if an underground water storage tank is provided to supply water in the entries building the owner will himself realise good result there if quickly.
There should be no garbage (refuse) in front of a factory There should be o garbage, dust- bin, drums and redundant articles front of a house, industry or factory, nor should there be any elevated (raised) land or plateau facing the said units.
Appropriate place for a boiler in a factory Generation, transformer, electric supply, heavy electrical machinery, transformer, machines should always be installed in the south- east direction. Boiler, furnace should also necessarily be commissioned on south- west direction and also that if guard room is situated on north- west corner, there won’t be any pilferage/ theft.

1. Bore-Well / Underground Water Tank
The most auspicious direction for bore-well or underground water tank in a factory is the North-East (Ishan corner).
This ensures positive flow of energy, better decision making and success expansion.
If NE is not possible, the North or East quadrant can be considered second-best.
Avoid placing underground tanks in South-West (SW), South or West, which causes loss of wealth, accidents and instability.
2. Overhead Water Tank
Heavy overhead water tanks should not come in NE.
The ideal direction for overhead tank in a factory is South-West (SW) corner as it requires heaviness and stability.
Alternatively, South or West sides can be used.
Do not place an overhead tank in the North-East or centre (Brahmasthan) of the plot.
3. Wastewater / Drainage Flow
According to Vastu, water should exit from the plot in the North-East, North or East direction.
Slopes and drains should be aligned to carry wastewater towards the north or east, never towards south or west.
Wrong drainage direction blocks prosperity and causes legal or financial troubles.
4. Water Source for Cooling Systems / Industrial Use
Industrial units using cooling towers or large water reservoirs should install them in the North or North-East, if below ground.
If above ground and heavy, place them towards West or South-West sides.
