IONISERS
The atmosphere surrounding us contains electrically charged particles which can be either positively or negatively charged. These are called positive or negative ions respectively.
While positive ions are harmful to the health, negative ions are conducive for a sense of well-being and they have a soothing and relaxing effect on humans. The dust around us is
positively charged. The interaction of positive and negative ions can neutralise the charge on dust particles. However, negative ions will have to be supplied artificially.
An atmosphere rich in negative ions leads to betterment of repair functions of the body and growth of organism. In a negative ion atmosphere wounds heal faster and there is reduction
in tension. In a air-conditioned room the flow of energy is obstructed which results in headache and nausea.
Places where computers are at work, the positive ion concentration is
high and negative ion generators help to eliminate the problem. Air-borne harmful bacteria are killed by exposure to negative-ion steams. This helps in control of infections and
spread of infectious diseases.
Thus negative ion generators have a role to play in creating a good atmosphere.
